Fun at the Symphony

We had such a wonderful time walking to the Symphony and listening to the music!

Items Due next Wednesday October 24th!

-Please turn in picture money by Wednesday October 24th (picture day is Friday October 26th!).

-(Students who stay all day only) Permission slips and $1.00 for the Symphony concert on November 29th 

-Permission slips and $4.00 per person are due for the December 11th field trip to the performance of The Snow Queen.

Join us for Shopping Night, at the Fresh & Easy at 7^th Ave & Indian School. 5% of the entire stores sales from 4:00 to 8:00pm will be donated to Faith North.

Parent work day on the Faith North Campus

Top 10 reasons to Work in the Gardens on 10/20 from 8:00AM-11:00AM:

10) You get 3 hours of Volunteer Time in one day

9) Faith North campuses will look beautiful

8) Our children will appreciate being able to plant in the gardens

7) Happy chickens make healthier eggs

6) Physical exercise is great for your body

5) The chickens have not been doing well on their housekeeping

4) The other students on the Shaw campus will wish they were part of FN Montessori

3) It doesn't get hot here until after 11AM

2) Plants grow better in soil that has been worked by parents

 

And the number 1 reason to volunteer to work in the gardens is:

1) You will get to spend time with the school principal (for once!) when you're not in trouble

Wednesday October 3rd, Thursday October 4th, and Friday October 5th all day students are dismissed at 1:20.  Please plan accordingly.

We wanted to take this opportunity to invite you and your families to a get-together on Saturday, September 22nd!  
 
The get-together will be at the Playgrounds Fun Zone in Glendale, AZ from 9-2:

Admission is $9 for the first child, and $7 for siblings.  There is also food available for purchase.  Your kids will need socks to participate.  There is a toddler area as well as the area for the bigger kids.  Upper age limit is 8 years old.
 
This is a great place for us to relax and visit, while having some coffee/food while the kids run around in a safe, clean, air-conditioned environment.

The bar code for Fry's will be sent via email and will also be available outside room 117 next to the comment box (treasure chest) to the right of the door.  Thank you for your support!

Dear Parents:
Fry’s is pleased to welcome you to our "COOL CA$H" Earning for Learning program.
This program is part of Fry’s on-going commitment to our schools, our children and our educational process. The program runs September 1, 2012 to April 27, 2013. Fry’s has worked hard to make this program easy for parents to participate in. All you have to do is:

 On your next shopping trip to Fry’s, present the school barcode along with your V.I.P card to your cashier.

 The cashier will scan your school barcode into the computer and then swipe your V.I.P card.

 This will automatically link your V.I.P card to your child’s school or a school of your choice.

 After this, every time you shop, every purchase you make will automatically be deposited into the school’s account.

 This only needs to be done once. The link will not carry over from the previous year.

 Within 72 hours, you will see a "COOL CA$H" message on the bottom of your grocery receipt.

 Once the school reaches $50,000* in spending, Fry’s sends the school a check for $500 to spend as they wish.

 The school barcode may be passed on to neighbors, relatives and co-workers to assist your school in achieving their goals sooner.

 V.I.P card can only be linked to one school.

 The programs ends April 27, 2013 for the 2012-2013 "COOL CA$H" year.

Over the years, Fry’s has donated over 12.2 million to Arizona schools. We care about the education of Arizona’s children and look forward to our continued partnership.

Support Faith North

An easy way to support Faith North.  On Facebook, search for Give with Target.  Search for Faith North.  For every 25 votes, the school gets a $25 gift card.  You can vote once a week until September 8th.  As of now, we have 7 votes.  Anyone can vote for a school so share with your friends and family.

I  hope you are haveing a wonderful summer.  Here is the supply list for 2012/2013 school year.  If you don't have the time (or desire) to shop you may
donate $30.00  toward the purchase of these items and other classroom materials.

1 box of band aids
2 metal forks (no plastic)
2 metal spoons (no plastic)
2 glass/ceramic  8 inch plates (no plastic)
2 bottles of dish washing soap
2 pink (prismacolor or prang) pencils
2 gold (prismacolor or prang) pencils
sponges
sponges with scrubby side
1 box Dixie cups
2 container of disinfecting wipes
1 pint tempera paint
1 box zip lock bag
1 spool of thread
1 box watercolor paint
4-6 new wash clothes (same color preferred)
sharpie marker (any color any  size tip)
cloth napkin
cloth place mat

1 wide ruled composition notebook without spirals

change of clothes with child's name on it
4 oz-6 0z cup with child's name on it

Here are some additional items if you would like to contribute to our class:

Have a great summer

Hope you have a wonderful summer with your children. We enjoyed haveing each and every one in our class and look forward to seeing them next year!

Kindergarten Graduation

Kindergarten parents should have received your invitation already, but if you have not Kindergarden graduation is on Monday May 21st at 6:00.  Please have your child in room 117 by 5:45 so they are ready  to walk into the ceremony at 6:00.  Students will be wearing graduation caps, girls  please wear your hair down, or a low pony tail type style (usual style for the boys).

Mother's Day Tea

Please join us for mother's day Tea, this Friday May 11th from 10:00 to 11:00 in room 117.  We will be serving light refreshments and celebrating you and all you do!

Lunch with your child

Parents who would like to join their child for lunch please let me know via email the day before so I can make arrangements. While you are in the classroom please follow the following guidlines:
1) Eat at separate table with only their child
2) Share food with their child only (other children may have dietary restrictions & health code policies dictate this)
3) Maintain the calmness of the environment
We want to allow quality time between the parent and their child within the school day. These policies are to help maintain a safe and proper Montessori environment for your child.
