Parents,

I am not sure if anyone is reading this but I just want to impress on you how important it is that you attend the Board meeting on the 13th of May (Wednesday).  The meeting starts at 6:00 but if you would like to get in to the board room, let alone have a seat you are encouraged to arrive at 5:00.    Please fill out a card to speak and share your story of how much you enjoy this community.  Please understand that there will be a great deal of emotions and we need to respond with calmness and grace.

Due to the wonderful weather we have been working outside a great deal this week!

Spring Break

Next week is spring break,  There will be so school.
Please remember to pick up your children early for the next three days.  Dismissal is at 1:45.

Next Week

Next week we will have minimal days on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday due to conferences of concern.  School will end for all day students at 1:45.  See you at the back gate!

Valentines Day Cards

Dear Parents,

We will be celebrating Arizona’s birthday and Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 13^th.  If your child would like to pass out cards please have your child write their name on the card.  The name of friends does not need to be written, this will allow your child to pass out their cards by themselves.  We ask that you do not send candy.  Our class has just gotten over the flu and we don’t want anyone to get sick again.

Summer

This summer Faith North will be offering a bridging program to help with the transition to first grade (at no cost).  We would like all of our outgoing kindergartners to take advantage of this opportunity.  The program will run from June 1st-26th.  There will be a grab and go breakfast offered from 8:00-8:20.  Class will begin promptly at 8:30 and run until 11:40.  No lunch will be served.  At release if the child is enrolled in PEER club, they may be bussed to the summer PEER site (where they will receive lunch).  If they are a parent pick up child, we will follow school yard procedures and dismiss through the back gate on Monroe. 
Should you have questions regarding this program you may contact Ms. Engdall.
You must confirm your child's attendance by February 13th by returning the slip that you have received (check your child's bag if you were not handed the paper).

Outdoor Enviroment needs your help!

One of the central tenets of the Montessori philosophy is the connection with the natural world.

The children have the daily opportunity to experience the natural world with structure and purpose. They learn how to use their hands in everyday endeavors focused on the care of the earth, its people and animals.  Respect for the environment and for each other is enhanced by group activities that require care for tools and materials, cooperation with peers and completion of tasks. 

At Faith North this is provided to the child through our outdoor environment.  Our outdoor environment is funded SOLELY through tax credit donations made by parents like you that have chosen a Montessori education for their child.

This year our tax credit campaign fell significantly short of the funding we will need to provide this opportunity for our children.  But, you can help!  Instead of paying for an expensive private Montessori education, you are fortunate enough to be getting one for free.  Why not take a bit of that savings and benefit yourself and our children through a donation?  Donations may be made in any amount up to $400.00 if you are married filling jointly or $200.00 if you are filing single head of household.  You may receive a dollar for dollar credit for the donation (check with your tax professional).  Donations made during the 2015 school year will be assessed on your 2015 taxes and may be made in the school office or online at http://phoenixelem.Tax Credit.Donations

We missed them so much.
Please feel free to send a sweater (with your child's name on it) that your child can leave at school.  Our room can feel cold to some of the children, and some of the children like to wear a light jacket or sweater to outdoor environment instead of a large winter coat.
